Everything you need to get started using our guide:
1 Pixhawk flight controller (or any natively supported flight contoller, such as Pixracer, Pixhawk Cube, Pixhawk 2.4.8, Pixhawk 4, Durandal, or any of the products from MRobotics.
2 A 6 channel 2.4 ghz aircraft radio, with throttle channel failsafe, and preferably Sbus or Ibus receiver (although most pixhawks come with a PPM to Sbus converter if you have an older radio)
3 A conventional airworthy model aircraft
4 A PC laptop computer to take to the field. (it will be used to install the open source Mission Planner free software for setup, flight planning, and as a ground station)
5 Basic ability to mount components in the aircraft, and ability to fly a basic RC plane.
(we include instructions on how to make your first flight in FBWA, a pilot assist mode, in case your RC skills are less than good.)
6 What you will need besides the Laptop and Pixhawk:
1 Digital airspeed sensor for Pixhawk with Pitot tube
2 Current sensor
3 I2C splitter
4 M8N GPS receiver
5 BEC 5v (recommended) to power the servo rail
6 Holybro 900mhz or 433mhz (recommended) 500mw telemetry radio
(note: some Pixhawk kits come with GPS, I2c splitter, microDS memory card and current sensor.)
We recommend purchasing the telemetry radios and digital airspeed sensor separately.
